Television That Matters for Iowa is IPTV's $8.5 million capital campaign to update, advance, and enhance our services for you.
This campaign is fueled by the recognition that media continues to be the most powerful, educational, and inspirational tool in our society today. IPTV is the public's television. IPTV belongs to you.
This campaign is about our future together. With your support, IPTV will be here, relevant, and making an impact for years to come. Digital technology has enabled IPTV to triple our program offerings to provide you with more content when and where you want it.
IPTV is changing from simply a broadcaster to a complete digital resource, providing you content on-air, online, on-demand, in the classroom and on the ever-expanding array of mobile devices.
And, as an added bonus to your campaign gift, Musco Lighting of Oskaloosa, Iowa, will match every gift, dollar for dollar,* to the Daniel K. Miller Endowment Fund for Television Excellence.
You're already in our bigger picture...make your gift today to keep everything sharp and in focus.
*Up to $100,000.
Have a Seat and Take a Stand for Iowa Public Television
From presidential debates to concerts to town hall meetings, the Maytag Auditorium is the heart of live, local productions at Iowa Public Television.
With a campaign gift of $1,500 or more, you can have an auditorium seat named for you and/or your family. There is a maximum of two lines and 25 characters per line.
Naming a seat offers a fantastic opportunity to publicly mark your belief in IPTV, as well as to recognize others. Naming a seat is also a way to give a unique gift to someone special or commemorate a special occasion. There are a limited number of seats available.
Make your pledge of $1,500 or more today to have a seat and take a stand for Iowa Public Television! (Gifts of $1,500 or more can be fulfilled over 10 months.)
For additional naming opportunities for gifts of $7,500 or more, please contact Susan Moritz at 800-728-2828.
This fund, named in honor of Dan Miller, our recently retired Executive Director and General Manager, is essential to creating and acquiring new series, documentaries, and other new large-scale productions locally and nationally. This fund is the foundation for new and exciting programming for you.
Changing technology has dictated changes in our studios. Just as the wide-screen television doesn't necessarily fit into the old analog television cabinet, our studios must be modified to accommodate the new technology. IPTV has been undergoing renovation and updates for the digital age including heating and air-conditioning for the new equipment, lighting grids, furnishings, etc.
The mobile production unit impacts every aspect of IPTV programming, from on-site town meetings that follow major documentary broadcasts to taking advantage of one-time opportunities to show Iowans something special and important about themselves and the state.
IPTV is the proud owner of thousands of hours of videotape and film drawn from our nearly 45-year history. Priceless and irreplaceable cultural, historic and journalistic treasures, there is no end to the worth and use of this material. To preserve this content and to achieve its full potential, we need to convert it to the digital format and catalog it. Not long ago, this kind of digital archive would have been impossible or impractical. Now, its creation is an obligation.
The Musco Lighting Challenge
A note from Musco Lighting CEO, Joe Crookham...
Your gift to IPTV will be matched - dollar for dollar!
Because of this long-standing relationship, it is my pleasure to announce that Musco Lighting will match your capital campaign gift, dollar for dollar,* to the Daniel K. Miller Endowment Fund for Television Excellence.
At Musco Lighting, our business is bringing light into dark places so that everyone can see what is taking place and participate. I believe that IPTV does that on an intellectual level - a beacon established long ago to educate, inform, enrich and inspire. It is still shining bright nearly 45 years later.
One of the people responsible for IPTV's strength is recently retired Dan Miller, a 37-year veteran of IPTV, serving the last 10 years as Executive Director and General Manager. I appreciate and admire Dan's commitment to excellence in television programming and production. Dan is one of the main reasons Musco Lighting is making this commitment today.
On behalf of Musco Lighting and our employees across the globe, thank you for your support of IPTV. We look forward to matching your gift because together we can make it happen!
CEO, Musco Lighting
