Iowa Public Television Announces "Reading Road Trip" Tour of 60 Iowa Cities This Summer

IPTV Kids Clubhouse Host Dan Wardell to Visit 60 Libraries for Story Time

(Johnston, Iowa) -- Iowa Public Television today announced the network will embark on an ambitious tour of 60 Iowa libraries during the second annual summer Reading Road Trip. Dan Wardell, popular host of the IPTV Kids Clubhouse, will welcome kids and families in communities across Iowa throughout the summer.

Iowa Public Television is partnering with libraries to promote summer reading, and the Reading Road Trip is tied to this year’s summer reading theme, "Catch the Reading Bug." Wardell will tell an original story, and kids will receive a water bottle to take home as a souvenir of the event.

"Every day, Iowa Public Television works to educate and entertain Iowans, and this trip is a great opportunity to do both for thousands of Iowa families in their own communities," said Daniel K. Miller, general manager and executive director of Iowa Public Television. "This tour of Iowa truly showcases our commitment to serving all parts of our state."

In addition to the scheduled story times at libraries around Iowa, Wardell will keep an online journal of his fun on the Reading Road Trip with pictures, an interactive map, video, and more. Families can follow Dan online at www.iptv.org/dantastic.
