Assignment Iowa Discusses Journalism in Iowa in the Lead-up to the Iraq Invasion

On the next Assignment Iowa, guest host Amy Johnson Boyle leads a discussion with journalism leaders to examine how the lead-up to the 2003 Iraq invasion was covered by the media in Iowa. The program, which airs at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, follows a national program, Bill Moyers Journal: Buying the War in which Moyers examines this issue at the national level.

The Assignment Iowa panel will include Gilbert Cranberg, former editorial page editor for The Des Moines Register & Tribune; Dave Busiek, news director for KCCI-TV in Des Moines; and Mark Bowden, editor of The Cedar Rapids Gazette. Guest host Johnson Boyle is the former KGAN-TV weeknight anchor in Cedar Rapids.

Bill Moyers Journal: Buying the War will be broadcast on statewide Iowa Public Television at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, and Assignment Iowa will follow at 9:30 p.m.
