Iowa Public Television Celebrates Iowa Talent with 2011 Terrace Hill Piano Competition

(Johnston, Iowa)  -- As part of the network’s commitment to showcasing talented Iowans, statewide Iowa Public Television will broadcast exclusive coverage of the 2011 Terrace Hill Piano Competition on Monday, April 11 at 8 p.m. The special will be rebroadcast Sunday, April 17 at 1 p.m.

Six high school seniors performed at Iowa Public Television before two judges and a live studio audience earlier this year. The competition was then narrowed down to three finalists vying for college scholarships. The hour-long IPTV program includes the complete performances of the three finalists.

First Lady Chris Branstad was on-hand to present the awards. Mrs. Branstad was instrumental in establishing the Terrace Hill Piano Competition in 1986.

Support for the broadcast of the 2011 Terrace Hill Piano Competition has been provided by Musco Lighting, MidAmerican Energy, Iowa Network Services, and Friends of Iowa Public Television.
