Immigration: On the Monday, December 17 edition of The Iowa Journal

(Johnston, Iowa) – Monday’s episode of The Iowa Journal will examine immigration in Iowa. The program airs Monday, December 17 at 6:30 p.m. It will be rebroadcast Friday, December 21 at 9 p.m. on statewide IPTV-Plus and will also be available online at Iptv.org.

One year after the largest immigration raid in U.S. history, Marshalltown, Iowa, is still picking up the pieces. This episode will examine the economic and emotional impact of that raid, and what public officials and the Latino community are doing to solve the community’s problems. Guests for the program are House Minority Leader Christopher Rants (R-Sioux City) and Sister Christie Fagan with Hispanic Ministries in Marshalltown.

Jeneane Beck of Iowa Public Radio will be on hand for a look behind the day’s headlines.
