Mexico's drug wars have killed tens of thousands of people since 2006. But out of more than 13000 asylum claims filed in the US in the past three years, only 232 have been granted. Among those stuck in asylum limbo is Emilio Gutierrez Soto, a journalist who has been threatened with death for his reports on military abuses in the drug wars.
